Family Fun in the sun

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

The Wemyss Family had their cousins down to stay from Scotland last weekend and I had the pleasure of running around Kew Gardens with them all on Sunday morning. It was magnificent with the magnolias, blossom and spring flowers out and such great fun – the perfect environment for photography. Archie, Emily, Angus and Harry were incredibly well behaved and so polite. I will bear them in mind as I struggle with my little madam of a 16 month old!! Here are some of my favourite photos as always. I am also building them a couple of photomontages from the shoot as there were such a lot of lovely images.

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

was a success…..! Despite the glorious weather, lots of lovely people still came through the doors to see what we all had to offer at The Bump and Beyond Baby Fair at Kempton Park on Sunday. Thanks very much to everyone for all of your interest, support and feedback. My Slice of Life product seemed to be a hit which is great news and I am practically fully booked until the end of July. Here is a little photo of my stand…. sorry about the crap iphoto quality!

I am really excited to launch “Slice of Life”…. my new, totally unique, photographic product

Monday, April 4th, 2011

“Slice of Life”  -  A new and totally unique addition to the world of portrait photography.

In addition to the beautiful portrait prints that go on the mantelpiece, in an album or on Dad’s desk, I design and construct a bespoke piece of ‘art’ that tells a story through numerous pictures. A “Slice of Life” picture is a multi-aperture photomontage depicting the life of your family at a particular point in time, at home and in your local area.  So, it’s not just about the people but the road name, the house number, the school uniform or gates, the local pub, the shoes in the hall, your favourite furniture or furnishings…. the little incidentals that give context and meaning to the portraits.

This idea of depicting the story of people at a point in time, through a multi-aperture photomontage, has numerous applications. It can make a very personal and unique Wedding present, Christening present or just a great Birthday present. I even created a “Slice of Life” as a downsizing present recently. A retired couple were selling the beloved family home and moving away from the area so the children commissioned a “Slice of Life” to serve as a constant reminder of the happy times they had had in that home.

If you are interested please do not hesitate to call or email me to find out more.

Lauren and Katinka

Saturday, April 2nd, 2011

Spring has sprung. I did a shoot in one of my most favourite parks this week. It was wonderful to have such a choice of beautiful backdrops with camelias, magnolias, blossom, daffodils……

Little Katinka is a thinker. You could see her looking and everything and taking it all in. She loved looking at the ducks and flowers especially. We were having such a good time, the afternoon just ran away with us.

Here are some of my favourite pictures as always.

My first feline shoot

Saturday, April 2nd, 2011

Aaaaahhhhh beautiful cats. I have hundreds of photos of my black lab but have not done a shoot with cats before. I really enjoyed it! I had visions of me hiding in the bushes waiting for them to pounce or chasing them all over the garden trying to get an action shot. Luckily it was a really sunny day and they were just basking in the light and heat. Bingo. Introducing Sid and Jasper (Sid who was thought to be a boy but turned out to be a girl!)
